About the Artist

Sharif Alibaks was born on September 28, 1967 in Paramaribo, Suriname. At the age of 8 he came to the Netherlands where he started his musical career as a 14 year old drummer/singer in various South American music formations.

At the end of the 80s he continued as a solo singer with his own voice and he has collaborated on local CDs suitable for the Surinamese music market. His specialty and most important characteristic is to breathe new life into world hits and bring them back to the attention of the public.

He got his singing inspiration from singers such as; Oscar D’Leon, Luther Vandross, Tony Sherman and other singers with a sweet voice.

Sharif has been allowed to stand on small and large stages; including others in “De Kuip” in Rotterdam where he performed the song: “Hou me vast” by Volumia.

This all-round singer with a very extensive singing repertoire can also perform at various festivities, anniversaries, weddings, birthdays and funerals.
